Role Overview: Primary Art & Design Teacher
As a Primary Art & Design Teacher, you will introduce young learners to the world of visual arts through engaging, hands-on lessons. You will encourage self-expression, creative thinking, and confidence through the exploration of various artistic techniques and materials. Lessons will align with the Cambridge International curriculum, focusing on both skill development and appreciation of global art forms.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging art and design lessons tailored to primary-level learners
- Inspire creativity and originality in student artwork
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with fellow educators to support cross-curricular learning
- Incorporate digital tools and technologies into the art curriculum
- Participate in school events, exhibitions, and extracurricular activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
- Valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar teaching role
- Familiarity with the Cambridge or other international art curricula
- Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Passion for nurturing student creativity in a multicultural setting
- Self-motivated and proactive in enriching the curriculum and school culture
