Role Overview: Secondary Chemistry Teacher
As a Secondary Chemistry Teacher, you will engage students in practical, inquiry-based learning that deepens their understanding of chemical principles. You will teach middle and high school classes, incorporating experiments, data analysis, and real-world applications into your lessons.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver chemistry lessons aligned with international curricula
- Design hands-on lab activities that promote scientific discovery
- Assess student progress and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with the science department on interdisciplinary projects and curriculum development
- Encourage problem-solving, logical reasoning, and academic integrity in the classroom
- Support extracurricular science activities, including competitions or science fairs
- Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents to support student achievement
- Participate in faculty training, school events, and ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of chemistry teaching experience at the secondary level
- Familiarity with international programs such as IGCSE, IB, or AP preferred
- Strong knowledge of chemistry content and lab safety protocols
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Enthusiasm for working in a multicultural school community
- Comfortable integrating technology into teaching and learning
