Role Overview
The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of High School Mathematics Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard instruction.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and teach high-quality, rigorous Mathematics units for assigned high school grades. Align instruction strictly with ISKL’s international curriculum framework and educational standards.
- Develop and execute strategies that promote logical reasoning, effective use of graphing calculators/technology, and strong assessment technique essential for success in advanced courses (e.g., IB/AP examinations).
- Assess student learning consistently using formative and summative tools aligned with international and ISKL standards. Provide timely, constructive feedback to drive measurable improvement.
- Collaborate consistently with department colleagues and school leadership on curriculum mapping, resource development, and student progress monitoring.
- Maintain a positive, highly organized, and professional classroom environment conducive to active learning and mathematical exploration.
- Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the curriculum and developing wider school initiatives, such as leading a Maths club, mentoring students for competitions, or supporting school-wide technology integration (CCAs).
- Ability to use new technologies to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents, and to build strong relationships with all members of the school community.
Qualifications
- Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related STEM field.
- Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for Secondary/High School Mathematics teaching.
- Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience teaching High School Mathematics (Grades 9-12), with significant, verified experience teaching North American, IB, or AP Mathematics syllabi being mandatory.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of advanced High School Mathematics subject content and the assessment requirements of international qualifications.
- Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
- Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
