Role Overview
The AP Biology/Chemistry Teacher will design and deliver rigorous, inquiry-based lessons aligned with the College Board AP standards and Morrison’s curriculum framework. The teacher will foster curiosity in science, strengthen students’ problem-solving abilities, and prepare them for AP examinations and future university studies. Beyond the classroom, the teacher will mentor students, support extracurricular activities, and contribute to the school’s vibrant academic community.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach AP Biology and AP Chemistry courses at the high school level
- Develop engaging lesson plans that encourage inquiry and critical thinking
- Provide timely assessments and constructive feedback to students
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum planning and cross-disciplinary initiatives
- Support student participation in labs, science fairs, and academic competitions
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least three years of teaching experience, preferably with AP or international programs
- Strong knowledge of advanced Biology and Chemistry curriculum standards
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for teaching in a diverse international Christian school community
- Commitment to professional development and innovative teaching practices
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
