This school is based in Madrid, Spain and is looking for a KS5 Art and Design Teacher. 

Job Overview:
Thames British School is seeking a passionate and innovative KS5 Art and Design Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Art and Design, a British teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd, or SCITT), and possess experience with the English National Curriculum and Cambridge Curriculum. This role offers the opportunity to inspire and nurture students in their artistic journey during their critical KS5 years.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, plan, and deliver high-quality Art and Design lessons for KS5 students, aligning with the English National Curriculum and Cambridge Curriculum.
  • Foster an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to explore their creativity and develop their artistic abilities.
  • Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and support them in achieving their personal and academic goals.
  • Collaborate with fellow teachers to enhance the Art and Design curriculum and promote interdisciplinary projects.
  • Stay current with educational best practices and trends in Art education to implement effective teaching strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, school events, and initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the overall growth of the school.

 

Qualifications:
  • Degree in Art and Design.
  • British teaching qualification (PGCE, BEd, or SCITT) or equivalent.
  • English Level C2 or IELTS 8.5.
  • Experience with the English National Curriculum, Cambridge Curriculum, IGCSE, A Levels, and/or IBDP preferred.
  • Two supporting references and a police clearance certificate or DBS no more than 3 months old.
