Role Overview: Art & Craft Teacher
The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing and delivering an engaging art and craft curriculum that encourages student creativity, expression, and skill development. You will design lessons that promote hands-on learning and explore a variety of artistic mediums. This role requires fostering a positive, inclusive classroom environment where students feel inspired and confident to experiment and express themselves artistically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a creative and effective art and craft curriculum aligned with the school’s academic goals
- Encourage students to explore diverse art techniques, materials, and cultural art forms
- Manage classroom activities effectively to maximize student participation and learning outcomes
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support artistic growth
- Promote a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate art across the wider curriculum and school initiatives
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to build strong relationships
- Utilize technology and digital tools to enhance the teaching and learning of art
- Engage in continuous professional development and contribute to the school community
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification or license such as QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent international qualification
- At least two years of experience teaching art or craft in an educational setting
- Strong knowledge of contemporary art practices and curriculum development
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Ability to work independently, proactively enrich curriculum, and contribute to wider school programs
- Enthusiasm for teaching in a diverse, multicultural international school environment
