Role Overview: Art Teacher
As the Art Teacher at IWAS, you will lead students in visual arts education across grade levels, with a focus on developing creative expression, technical skills, and cultural appreciation. You will play a key role in supporting the PYP philosophy through hands-on art experiences, integrated learning, and student-led projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging visual arts lessons aligned with the IB PYP and American curriculum
- Introduce students to various media, techniques, and artistic styles
- Encourage creativity, reflection, and artistic risk-taking
- Collaborate with homeroom and specialist teachers on interdisciplinary units
- Organize school-wide art exhibitions and events
- Provide constructive feedback to support each student’s artistic growth
- Foster a respectful, inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or international equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching art in a school setting
- Familiarity with IB PYP or inquiry-based learning preferred
- Proficient in English (spoken and written)
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to innovation, diversity, and lifelong learning
