Role Overview: Biology Teacher (Cambridge IGCSE)
We are looking for a skilled Biology educator who can inspire curiosity and critical thinking in students. The successful candidate will teach lower and upper secondary classes, using the Cambridge IGCSE Biology curriculum as the foundation for engaging, inquiry-based lessons. You will contribute to a supportive academic culture that promotes achievement, self-confidence, and lifelong learning.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver interactive, concept-driven Biology lessons based on the IGCSE syllabus
- Facilitate laboratory experiments and fieldwork that encourage scientific inquiry
- Monitor and assess student performance, providing timely feedback and academic support
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning experiences
- Guide students in developing research skills, critical thinking, and ethical reasoning
- Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment
- Participate in curriculum planning, school events, and professional development initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related subject
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Biology, preferably at IGCSE level
- Strong knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum and assessment methods
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Tech-savvy and confident in using educational technology in the classroom
- Collaborative, reflective, and committed to continuous professional growth
