Manager for the Management of Assets and Services – Domestic Bursar

This school is based in Trieste, Italy and is looking for a Manager for the Management of Assets and Services – Domestic Bursar.

Characteristics of the position:

The Head of Asset Management and Services assists the Rector in the planning and management of the assets owned by the College or in use by the College (properties, equipment, College vehicles) and develops maintenance and development of its structures.

He/She also follows the logistics related to the services, buildings and assets of the College. Acting within the scope of the choices indicated and authorized by the Rector and the General Secretary, he provides for the needs and requests of the College community.

In particular, the Domestic Bursar will be responsible for:
  • of the management of the maintenance service (scheduling of interventions, definition of the works to be managed with internal staff and those of the contracting cooperative or to be entrusted to external companies, coordination with the manager of the purchasing and contracts service for external assignments, coordination with the Heritage service of the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia, owner of the properties);
  • the management of emergencies, addressed both with internal staff of the cooperative, through assignments or through assistance contracts for the thermo-hydraulic, electrical, alarm and cesspool systems;
  • of the logistics of the services by coordinating all the services performed by external companies at the College buildings including cleaning, gardening and small interventions (movement of supplies and furnishings, small removals, logistical organization of events);
  • vehicle management and maintenance;
  • the technical management of supplies related to buildings and services;
  • collaborates in the implementation of safety plans.
The ideal candidate will have the following characteristics:
  • Excellent organizational and priority management skills;
  • Personnel management skills;
  • Ability of verbal and written expression in English;
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the management of technical and maintenance services, and/or construction management, and/or logistics management of technical and support services.
  • Technical training (by way of example: surveyor diploma, professional technical institute diploma);
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in engineering, architecture, architectural sciences, urban planning, urban and environmental territorial planning;
  • Ability to work in a group in a stimulating multicultural and multilingual environment.
The Commission reserves the right to request evidentiary documentation relating to the qualifications obtained and the work experience gained by the candidate.
Methods of the selection process

The CVs received within the deadlines and according to the methods indicated below will be examined and evaluated by a selection commission specifically appointed by the Rector. The CVs will be evaluated according to the criterion of congruence with the requested profile and according to the evaluation criteria established by the Commission.

Once the evaluation is completed, the Commission will draw up a short list made up of at least 5 candidates who have obtained the highest scores. The short list may be reduced to up to 3 candidates in the event that, in the reasoned opinion of the Commission, the other candidates do not present a profile consistent with the one requested, or if they are profiles with limited availability due to the particularity of the skills required.

The candidates included in the short list will be invited to take an interview with the Commission and a practical test in Duino (TS) at the College headquarters which will be held approximately in the week of 4-7 December 2023. The interview will explore the congruence between the skills , the knowledge, skills and attitudes of the candidates in relation to the required profile. The invitation for the interview and the practical test will be made via e-mail at least 24 hours before the date set for them to take place. Failure to present the candidate will be considered as a waiver of the selection. 
In accordance with the provisions of the College Regulations on the protection and prevention of harassment and abuse, candidates included in the short list will be asked for adequate and verified references when called for the interview and practical test.
