This school is based in Dubai, UAE and is looking for an Accountant.

Position Overview: The English College Dubai is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team. The Accountant will play a critical role in managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial information to support the school’s operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and accounts payable/receivable.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of bank accounts and financial transactions.
  • Manage payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment of salaries and benefits to employees.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, highlighting any variances and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and school policies.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Handle day-to-day financial transactions and resolve any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
  • Provide financial support and guidance to school departments and staff as needed.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.


Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within an educational institution or similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
