Business Management Teacher, Collegiate International School, United Arab Emirates

This school is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and is looking for a Business Management Teacher.

Position Overview: The Business Management Teacher at Collegiate International School is responsible for delivering high-quality business education to students in grades 9-12. The teacher will engage students in learning the principles of business management, including marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, and organizational behavior. This role involves preparing students for IGCSE, A-Level, or IB Business Management examinations and equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in the business world.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Delivery:

   • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with the school’s business management curriculum.
   • Teach key business management concepts such as strategic planning, financial analysis, marketing strategies, and human resources.
   • Incorporate real-world business scenarios, case studies, and interactive activities to enhance students’ understanding.
2. Student Assessment:
   • Assess students’ grasp of business management concepts through tests, projects, presentations, and case studies.
   • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their business acumen and analytical skills.
   • Prepare students for external exams such as IGCSE, A-Level, or IB Business Management, ensuring they meet curriculum standards.
3. Classroom Management:
   • Create a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
   • Implement effective classroom management techniques to maintain discipline and ensure a productive learning atmosphere.
   • Address any academic or behavioral issues promptly and professionally.
4. Professional Development:
   • Stay informed about the latest developments in business education and incorporate new teaching strategies and resources.
   • Participate in professional development opportunities and collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices.
   • Attend staff meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and school events as required.
5. Student Support and Guidance:
   • Provide additional support to students who need help understanding complex business concepts.
   • Encourage students to think critically, solve problems, and apply business theories to real-life situations.
   • Mentor students interested in pursuing careers in business, offering guidance on further education and career paths.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
   • Work closely with colleagues, department heads, and school administration to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive business management curriculum.
   • Maintain open communication with parents and guardians about student progress and any areas of concern.
   • Contribute to the school community by participating in business-related extracurricular activities, such as clubs or competitions.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Education, or a related field; a teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE) is preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching business management, preferably in an international school setting.
• Strong knowledge of business management principles and the ability to teach them effectively at the high school level.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
• A passion for teaching and inspiring students to pursue careers in business.
