This school is based in Amman, Jordan and is looking for a Chemistry Teacher.

Overview:

Al Ra’ed Al Arabi School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Chemistry Teacher to join our dynamic team of educators. The Chemistry Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous instruction in chemistry to secondary school students, fostering a passion for the subject and promoting scientific inquiry and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for chemistry instruction, covering key concepts, theories, and practical applications in the field of chemistry.
  • Design and deliver engaging lessons and laboratory experiments that encourage students to explore and investigate chemical phenomena, develop scientific inquiry skills, and apply their knowledge to real-world problems.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to facilitate student learning and promote active participation, ensuring that all learners are supported and challenged.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and support to help students achieve their learning goals and objectives.
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes scientific curiosity, critical thinking, and collaboration among students, while also emphasizing the importance of laboratory safety and proper scientific practices.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate chemistry across the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary connections that enhance students’ understanding of chemistry and its relevance to other fields of study.
  • Stay informed about developments in the field of chemistry education, including new research, teaching methods, and technologies, and participate in professional development activities to continuously improve teaching practices and pedagogy.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Teaching certification or qualification in Chemistry Education.
  • Previous experience teaching chemistry at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of chemistry concepts, principles, and laboratory techniques.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to develop a deep understanding of chemistry and to pursue further study and careers in the field.
