Role Overview: Computer Science Teacher
As a Computer Science Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching digital literacy, programming, and responsible technology use across grade levels. You will design engaging lessons that integrate computational thinking and encourage students to explore real-world applications of technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver computer science and digital literacy instruction aligned with American and IB PYP frameworks
- Teach foundational topics including coding, robotics, data analysis, and digital citizenship
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration through hands-on learning
- Integrate technology meaningfully into interdisciplinary projects and class routines
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Support students in developing ethical and safe online practices
- Collaborate with colleagues on tech-driven initiatives and school-wide programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Educational Technology, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least two years of teaching experience in computer science or IT
- Strong understanding of digital tools and emerging educational technologies
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
- A commitment to continuous professional growth and innovation in education
- Experience with IB PYP or inquiry-based learning is an advantage
