Role: Assistant Headteacher – Secondary

As the Assistant Headteacher – Secondary, you will play a vital role in driving school improvement, student success, and staff development. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing Key Stage progress, ensuring high standards in academic achievement, student behaviour, and well-being.
• Implementing a clear vision for the Key Stage that aligns with the school’s values and educational objectives.
• Overseeing curriculum planning, assessment strategies, and student progress tracking to ensure effective learning outcomes.
• Collaborating with Heads of Subject, teachers, and leaders to maintain high teaching standards.
• Promoting student engagement by encouraging involvement in school activities, extracurricular programs, and community initiatives.
• Driving the adoption of the High Performance Learning framework, ensuring staff and students are motivated to achieve excellence.
• Managing school resources effectively, ensuring staff time and budgets are utilized efficiently.
• Providing mentorship and professional development for staff to foster growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

To thrive in this leadership role, you should have:

• Proven leadership and management experience in a school setting, ideally as a Key Stage Leader or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum planning, student progress monitoring, and behaviour management strategies.
• A certified teaching qualification such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent.
• A passion for promoting student well-being and ensuring all learners achieve academic success.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with staff, students, parents, and external stakeholders.
• The ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve shared goals and deliver outstanding educational outcomes.
