Role Overview: Design Technology Teacher (IB MYP)
As a Design Technology Teacher, you will teach students in the Middle Years Programme (Grades 6–10), encouraging creativity, innovation, and problem-solving through practical and theoretical learning. You will help students apply design thinking and digital tools to develop real-world solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging IB MYP design technology lessons
- Teach students how to use design software, tools, and workshop equipment safely
- Encourage inquiry-based learning and project-based assignments
- Support student innovation through collaborative and individual projects
- Integrate interdisciplinary learning where applicable
- Track student progress using IB assessment criteria
- Participate in curriculum development, school events, and professional learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Engineering, Technology Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB or international school context
- Familiarity with IB MYP design curriculum and assessment methods
- Proficiency in digital tools and design technologies
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Strong commitment to student-centered learning and continuous professional development
- High proficiency in written and spoken English
