Position: Director of Student Support Services (SENDCo) – Whole School

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) strategy across the school.
• Develop and implement inclusive education programs that cater to diverse learning needs.
• Provide specialist support, intervention strategies, and curriculum adaptations for students with additional learning needs.
• Work closely with teachers, learning support assistants, and parents to create individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Ensure compliance with UK SEND policies while integrating best practices in international special education.
• Promote a whole-school approach to inclusion, supporting students with learning difficulties, gifted and talented needs, and social-emotional challenges.
• Train and mentor staff on differentiated instruction, behavior management, and student support techniques.
• Collaborate with school leadership to refine policies, enhance student well-being, and build a culture of inclusion.
• Utilize assessment tools, data analysis, and progress tracking to monitor student development and improve outcomes.
• Strengthen parent partnerships, offering guidance on support services, accommodations, and interventions.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

• A Master’s Degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
• A UK-recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
• Proven experience as a SENDCo or Director of Student Support Services in a British or international school setting.
• A deep understanding of British SEND policies, inclusive education strategies, and differentiation techniques.
• Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills to work with staff, students, and parents.
• A passion for student-centered learning and a commitment to inclusive educational excellence.
