Drama Teacher Role
As a Drama Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging drama lessons that develop students’ creativity, confidence, and performance skills.
- Plan and lead drama productions, showcasing student talent through performances and events.
- Support students in developing communication, teamwork, and presentation skills through drama activities.
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged to express themselves.
- Collaborate with colleagues to incorporate drama techniques across other subject areas.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Provide constructive feedback to students, helping them refine their skills and build self-confidence.
Qualifications & Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- A certified teaching qualification such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE, or an equivalent degree with a specialization in Drama.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience teaching drama, ideally within an IB curriculum school (though this is not mandatory).
- A strong understanding of drama techniques, performance skills, and stage production.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to inspire students and collaborate with colleagues.
- The ability to create engaging lessons that support student growth in creativity, expression, and confidence.
- A commitment to supporting extracurricular activities and school performances.
