About Overseas Chinese Academy of Chiway Suzhou (OCAC)
OCAC is a K–12 international school founded in 2017 through a partnership between the Chiway Education Group and Suzhou Industrial Park Development Co. The academy was established to serve the educational needs of Chinese families returning from overseas. OCAC delivers a unique dual-language program that integrates the Chinese National Curriculum, American pedagogical strategies, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework.

Role Overview: Early Years Homeroom Teacher
As an Early Years Homeroom Teacher, you will create and manage a student-centered classroom that supports the holistic development of young learners. You will work closely with co-teachers and support staff to design engaging lessons that promote inquiry, creativity, and foundational academic skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based lessons in both English and Chinese learning contexts
- Collaborate with teaching teams to plan curriculum aligned with IB PYP and school standards
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents to support student progress and well-being
- Participate actively in school events and professional development opportunities
- Use digital tools to support learning and assessment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum two years of experience in an Early Years or similar teaching role
- Familiarity with international curricula, especially IB PYP, is strongly preferred
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Fluent in English; Mandarin is a plus but not required
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed to lifelong learning
- Capable of fostering strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
