Role Overview

The Early Years Homeroom Teacher will provide a nurturing, inquiry-based learning environment for young children, guiding their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The role involves teaching core subjects, fostering creativity through play and exploration, and preparing students to transition smoothly into the next stages of their education.

Key Responsibilities

• Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Design engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP)
• Support children’s social and emotional development through positive guidance
• Integrate play-based learning strategies to encourage exploration and creativity
• Use assessments to monitor student growth and tailor instruction
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Early Years curriculum
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians to support student progress
• Contribute to the wider school community and extracurricular activities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field
• Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, ideally in Early Years or kindergarten settings
• Familiarity with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) or international curricula
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and innovation in teaching
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families
• Enthusiasm for working in a multicultural, international school environment
