Located in Changchun, China, CAIS serves students from Nursery through Grade 12 (ages 2–19). As the first and only licensed international school in Jilin Province, CAIS is widely recognized for its academic quality and global perspective. The school holds full accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Role Overview: Early Years Teacher
As an Early Years Teacher at CAIS, you will deliver engaging, play-based instruction aligned with the IB PYP framework. Your lessons will promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and implement age-appropriate, inquiry-based learning experiences
- Establish a safe, stimulating, and supportive classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators
- Track and assess student progress using developmentally appropriate tools
- Collaborate with team members to plan cross-curricular units
- Participate in school events and contribute to the wider school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international or IB setting
- Strong knowledge of child development and early learning best practices
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- High level of English proficiency (spoken and written)
- Tech-savvy with experience using digital tools in the classroom
- Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and adaptable to new cultural environments
