Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Early Years Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, play-based learning experiences across all early childhood domains (physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language).

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, inquiry-based units of work strictly aligned with the IB PYP Early Years framework.
• Develop and execute developmentally appropriate learning engagements that promote language development, numeracy concepts, motor skills, and social-emotional growth through play and structured activities.
• Integrate the IB Learner Profile attributes into daily interactions and learning activities, fostering personal growth and international mindedness.
• Assess student development consistently using observational methods and portfolio collection, clearly aligned with early learning goals and IB principles. Provide timely, constructive feedback and actively communicate progress with parents.
• Collaborate consistently with specialist teachers, the Early Years team, and the PYP Coordinator on unit planning, resource development, and student welfare.
• Maintain a safe, highly organized, and stimulating learning environment that encourages active exploration and student success.
• Actively participate in required IB professional development sessions and proactively contribute to enriching the co-curricular program and wider school initiatives.
• Use new technologies (e.g., educational apps, interactive whiteboards) appropriately and creatively to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.

Qualifications

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for Early Years or Primary teaching.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as an Early Years or Primary Teacher, ideally within an IB PYP setting.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of Early Childhood pedagogy and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) framework.
• Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
