Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Early Years Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard instruction.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, play-based, and inquiry-led Early Years units. Align instruction strictly with the British EYFS curriculum and IIS’s educational standards.
• Develop and execute highly differentiated strategies that promote core developmental milestones in communication, physical development, and personal/social/emotional areas.
• Assess student learning consistently using formative and summative tools aligned with the EYFS requirements (e.g., observation, tracking of development milestones). Provide timely, constructive feedback to drive measurable improvement.
• Collaborate consistently with the support team (e.g., SEN specialists, therapists) and Primary colleagues on curriculum mapping, individualized interventions, and student progress monitoring.
• Maintain a positive, highly organized, and professional classroom environment conducive to active learning and social development.
• Be independent, self-motivated, and proactive in enriching the curriculum and developing wider school initiatives, supporting the school’s inclusive mission.
• Ability to use new technologies (e.g., interactive tables, educational apps) to enhance the quality of teaching and learning for all students.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents, and to build strong relationships with all members of the school community.

Qualifications

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, or a related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for Early Years or Primary teaching.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience teaching Early Years students, with significant, verified experience teaching the British EYFS curriculum being mandatory. Experience in an inclusive setting is highly desirable.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of the British EYFS framework and a strong understanding of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and differentiation techniques.
• Skills: Maintain excellent classroom management and superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
