This school is based in Curitiba, Brazil and is looking for an ECC Portuguese & ES BHG Teacher
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team. The ECC Portuguese & ES BHG Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging and effective Portuguese and Brazilian History and Geography (BHG) lessons in alignment with the school’s curriculum and standards. The teacher will foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting linguistic and cultural competence while collaborating with colleagues and engaging actively with the ISC community to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Responsibilities
● Be responsible for all professional duties, such as punctuality on arrival, posting grades on time, and meeting parents when needed.
● Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate Portuguese language and BHG lessons to students in the Early Childhood Center (ECC) and Elementary School (ES).
● Demonstrate great communication skills in Portuguese, both orally and in writing.
● Adjust teaching strategies to the Modern Learning Principles.
● Create engaging and stimulating lesson plans that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
● Demonstrate excellent classroom management in terms of behavior, time, and learning strategies.
● Establish and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
● Ensure the well-being of students by following health and safety guidelines.
● Student Engagement: Employ various teaching strategies and resources to keep students
engaged in learning and differentiating for different grade levels.
● Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, including conferences and progress reports.
● Actively participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities.
● Classroom Environment: Create a welcoming, organized, and visually stimulating classroom that promotes a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
● Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to coordinate activities and ensure a cohesive educational experience.
● Cultural Sensitivity: Foster an inclusive classroom that respects and celebrates cultural diversity.
Requirements
● Teaching Degree in Pedagogy.
● Preferably Post-Graduation and/or Masters Degree.
● Proficiency in English (oral and written) is preferred.
● Knowledge of child development, instructional strategies, and classroom management.
● Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflection.
● Commitment to professionalism and collaborative work.
