About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Economics and Business Studies at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, including IGCSE and A-Level. You will play a key role in helping students develop a strong understanding of economic systems, business concepts, and real-world applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Economics and Business Studies to students in Years 10–13
- Prepare students for success in IGCSE and A-Level exams through structured, engaging lessons
- Design and implement curriculum plans aligned with the National Curriculum for England
- Promote critical thinking, analytical skills, and entrepreneurial mindset through dynamic instruction
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Humanities and Social Sciences department
- Foster positive relationships with students and parents, supporting each learner’s development
- Contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme and whole-school initiatives
- Participate in professional learning and stay updated with current trends in economics and business education
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, or a related subject
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching IGCSE and A-Level Economics or Business Studies
- Strong understanding of the British curriculum and international school environment
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Demonstrated ability to motivate and engage students
- Proficient in integrating technology into teaching and assessment
- Committed to ongoing professional growth and curriculum development
- Fluent in spoken and written English
