Role Overview: Economics Teacher (IGCSE & IB Diploma)
As an Economics Teacher at SIS South Jakarta, you will teach Cambridge IGCSE Economics and IB Diploma Economics. The ideal candidate will deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that connect economic theory to real-world issues. You will guide students in developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, preparing them for both examinations and lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Economics to students in IGCSE and IB Diploma levels
- Create engaging, student-centered lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
- Incorporate current global economic issues into classroom discussions
- Design assessments that measure student understanding and provide timely feedback
- Participate in curriculum development, professional learning, and school events
- Collaborate with teaching teams on cross-curricular projects and activities
- Maintain regular communication with students, parents, and academic staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting
- Experience teaching the IB Diploma and Cambridge IGCSE curriculum strongly preferred
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using technology to enhance teaching and learning
- Passion for education, collaboration, and continuous professional development
