Position Overview: Elementary Art Teacher
The Elementary Art Teacher will design and deliver engaging art lessons for primary-aged students. You will foster creativity, build foundational skills, and support each student’s self-expression through visual arts. You will also contribute to school exhibitions, events, and cross-curricular projects that integrate artistic disciplines with core subjects.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured, age-appropriate art instruction using various media and techniques
- Inspire students to explore their creativity and develop confidence in their artistic abilities
- Develop lesson plans aligned with international art standards and school goals
- Organize student art displays, exhibitions, and contribute to school-wide events
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that celebrates artistic diversity
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators on integrated learning projects
- Assess student work and communicate progress with students and parents
- Participate in ongoing professional development and school activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art Education or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience in a similar role
- Familiarity with international curricula (e.g., IB PYP, American, British)
- Strong command of spoken and written English
- Skilled in classroom management and student engagement
- Proficient in integrating technology into visual arts instruction
- Passionate about international education and artistic development
