Role Overview: Elementary EAL Teacher
As the Elementary EAL Teacher, you will support non-native English speakers in developing their language skills across listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Your role is essential to helping students access the full curriculum and thrive academically and socially in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging EAL lessons tailored to diverse proficiency levels
- Assess language development and adjust instruction to meet student needs
- Collaborate with homeroom and subject teachers to support language integration
- Promote confidence and participation in English-speaking environments
- Develop individualized learning plans for students requiring targeted support
- Track student progress and provide regular feedback to families and colleagues
- Integrate technology to enhance English instruction and engagement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in TESOL, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, QTS, PGCE)
- At least 2 years of teaching experience in EAL or ESL at the elementary level
- Native-level fluency in English
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for working in multicultural school communities
- Proficiency with digital learning tools and adaptive instructional strategies
