Role Overview
The Elementary EAL Teacher will play a vital role in supporting students for whom English is an additional language. The teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons that strengthen reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills while fostering confidence and academic success. This position also requires close collaboration with classroom teachers to ensure students thrive across all subject areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English as an Additional Language to elementary students
- Design differentiated lesson plans to meet diverse language learning needs
- Support language development across the curriculum through collaboration with classroom teachers
- Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues
- Participate in school events, professional learning, and extracurricular activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably in international schools
- Strong knowledge of EAL teaching strategies and international curricula
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Commitment to collaboration, innovation, and ongoing professional development
- Enthusiasm for working in a diverse international school community
