Role Overview: Elementary Homeroom Teacher
The Elementary Homeroom Teacher will be responsible for teaching core subjects such as English, Math, Social Studies, and Science to primary-level students. The teacher will also support students’ social and emotional development and promote a positive, inclusive classroom culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons in line with the Manitoba curriculum
- Foster a safe, respectful, and stimulating classroom environment
- Track and assess student progress, using data to guide instruction
- Communicate regularly with parents and collaborate with staff on academic planning
- Encourage inquiry, creativity, and problem-solving through differentiated instruction
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, events, and ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, Manitoba license, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in a primary school setting
- Experience with international or Canadian curricula preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Proactive, collaborative, and committed to student-centered learning
- Confident using educational technology to support instruction
