Role Overview: Elementary Music Teacher
The Elementary Music Teacher will design and deliver engaging music lessons that align with both IB PYP and American curriculum goals. You will support students’ musical growth through singing, instrument exploration, rhythm activities, movement, and integrated projects. The ideal candidate brings creativity, energy, and a deep passion for music education.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver developmentally appropriate music instruction for elementary students
- Foster musical literacy, creativity, and performance skills
- Incorporate instruments, movement, and multicultural music into the classroom
- Collaborate with teachers on interdisciplinary learning units
- Organize student performances, assemblies, and musical showcases
- Use assessment tools to track progress and provide feedback
- Maintain a joyful, inclusive, and safe learning environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or international equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching music in a school setting
- Familiarity with IB PYP or inquiry-based learning approaches
- Strong English communication skills (spoken and written)
- Confident classroom management and interpersonal abilities
- Passion for fostering student creativity and musical expression
- Proficiency with educational technologies and digital music tools is a plus
