Role Overview: Elementary Social Studies Teacher
The successful candidate will design and implement a rich and engaging Social Studies curriculum that aligns with international standards. The role involves fostering inquiry, promoting global awareness, and helping students develop an appreciation for history, culture, geography, and civic responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver age-appropriate, inquiry-based lessons in history, geography, civics, and culture
- Foster critical thinking, collaboration, and discussion-based learning
- Integrate social studies content with other disciplines and real-world issues
- Create a supportive, inclusive classroom that encourages curiosity and respect
- Use assessment tools effectively to monitor and guide student learning
- Communicate clearly with parents and collaborate with fellow educators
- Participate actively in school events, curriculum planning, and professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Studies, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience
- Knowledge of international or IB curricula preferred
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written
- Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning tools
- Motivation to innovate and contribute to the school community
