Role Overview: English Teacher (Cambridge IGCSE)

As an English Teacher, you will teach Cambridge IGCSE English Language and Literature to secondary students. You will engage learners with dynamic lessons that develop reading comprehension, analytical writing, grammar, and speaking skills. Your approach should support independent learning, creativity, and academic achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE English curriculum
• Foster students’ understanding of literature, composition, and language analysis
• Design assessments that evaluate both academic progress and skill development
• Promote critical thinking through discussion, group work, and writing tasks
• Guide students in preparation for IGCSE English examinations
• Contribute to school-wide literacy initiatives and English-focused events
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and cross-disciplinary integration
• Maintain regular communication with parents about student progress

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching English at the IGCSE level
• Strong command of written and spoken English
• Proven classroom management and lesson planning skills
• Familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE English syllabus
• Passionate about education in a multicultural international school setting
• Comfortable integrating digital tools to enhance language learning
