Role Overview: English Teacher (Cambridge IGCSE)
The English Teacher will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE framework. You will help students build proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, while guiding them through literary analysis, composition, and exam preparation. You will also contribute to interdisciplinary projects and school events that enhance the overall learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English Language and Literature to students preparing for the IGCSE
- Create dynamic, inclusive, and differentiated lessons that support varied learning styles
- Use assessments to inform instruction and track student progress
- Cultivate a classroom environment that encourages open discussion and collaboration
- Contribute to the development and review of English curriculum content
- Communicate regularly with parents and colleagues to support student success
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and school-wide initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related discipline
- Recognized teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching English, preferably at IGCSE level
- Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum and international school settings
- Excellent spoken and written English proficiency
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to professional development and collaborative teaching
- Comfortable using digital tools to support instruction and student engagement
