Role Overview: English Teacher (IGCSE & IBDP)
As an English Teacher, you will help students explore literary texts, develop analytical writing skills, and engage in thoughtful discussion. You will play a key role in preparing students for both the IGCSE and IBDP English Language and Literature courses.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English Language and Literature to students at the secondary level (IGCSE & IBDP)
- Create interactive lesson plans aligned with international curriculum standards
- Foster a classroom culture that values curiosity, expression, and critical thinking
- Use assessment data to differentiate instruction and support student progress
- Participate in curriculum design, interdisciplinary initiatives, and extracurricular programs
- Communicate regularly with parents about student performance and goals
- Contribute to a collaborative, collegial school environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching credential (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of teaching experience in a secondary school setting
- Familiarity with Cambridge and/or IB English curriculum
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Skilled in classroom management and student engagement
- Tech-savvy and enthusiastic about integrating digital tools into learning
- Growth-oriented and open to continuous professional development
