Role Overview: English Teacher
As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum. You will challenge students to think critically, express themselves clearly, and develop a deep appreciation for literature and language. You will also support the broader mission of the school by contributing to its academic, co-curricular, and character development programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English language and literature to secondary-level students
- Design creative and challenging lesson plans aligned with the Cambridge syllabus
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and inquiry
- Assess student progress using formative and summative methods
- Offer feedback that supports student growth and improvement
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to enhance interdisciplinary learning
- Communicate regularly with parents and participate in school events
- Use technology to improve lesson delivery and student engagement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of teaching experience at the secondary level
- Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum is highly preferred
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Ability to work in a multicultural setting with sensitivity and enthusiasm
