Role Overview: English Teacher
The English Teacher will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction to middle and high school students. You will teach language, literature, and writing while encouraging thoughtful discourse and cultural literacy. This role involves fostering a love of reading and helping students become confident communicators in a multicultural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English language and literature aligned with American and IB frameworks
- Develop reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills across grade levels
- Promote inquiry, critical thinking, and creativity in the classroom
- Design lessons that incorporate diverse texts and media
- Assess student learning through formative and summative tools
- Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary projects
- Provide meaningful feedback and encourage academic growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of English teaching experience in a school setting
- Strong command of written and spoken English
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
- Experience with IB PYP or MYP preferred
- Passion for working in international and culturally diverse environments
- Confidence in using technology to enhance instruction
