About the Role: IB English Teacher
As an English Teacher at HCIS, you will deliver dynamic and inquiry-driven lessons that strengthen students’ language mastery and appreciation of literature. You will inspire analytical thinking, effective writing, and confident oral communication across a diverse student population.
Responsibilities
- Teach English language and literature within the IB and integrated school curriculum
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans and assessments
- Encourage independent reading and foster a passion for literary studies
- Support student growth through differentiated instruction and feedback
- Contribute to curriculum planning and cross-disciplinary collaboration
- Participate in school-wide events, enrichment activities, and parent engagement
- Maintain a respectful and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or equivalent certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, IB Educator Certificate)
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience at the secondary level
- Familiarity with the IB Diploma Programme and/or international curricula
- Strong communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent spoken and written English proficiency
- Ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning effectively
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
