This school is based in Istanbul, Turkey and is looking for a Secondary School ELL Teacher.

MEF International School Istanbul is seeking a passionate and experienced Secondary School English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality English language instruction to secondary students and fostering their language development in a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver English language instruction to secondary students who are learning English as an additional language.
• Design and implement engaging and differentiated lessons that address the diverse needs and proficiency levels of ELL students.
• Assess students’ language skills and progress regularly using a variety of assessment tools and strategies.
• Collaborate with subject-area teachers to integrate language learning objectives into the mainstream curriculum.
• Utilize technology and other instructional resources effectively to enhance language learning experiences.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes cultural awareness, open-mindedness, and lifelong learning.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues to support students’ language development and academic success.

Qualifications:

1. Fluent English speaker with certification.
2. Bachelor’s degree in education or a relevant academic discipline.
3. Teaching certification in English as a Second Language (ESL) or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
4. Minimum of three years of teaching experience, preferably working with secondary ELL students.
5. Experience with IB PYP/DP, Cambridge Checkpoint, or IGCSE curriculum is preferred.
6. Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes.
7. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to cultural diversity and inclusivity.
