This school is based in Amman, Jordan and is looking for an English Teacher.

Amman French School is seeking a dedicated and experienced English Teacher to join our dynamic team. The English Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in English language and literature to students at various levels. This position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students to develop strong English language skills, critical thinking abilities, and a lifelong love for literature and language learning.

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons in English language and literature, tailored to the needs and proficiency levels of students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Teach English language skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking, using innovative teaching methods, resources, and technology tools to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive English language curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational objectives, standards, and assessment criteria, fostering students’ linguistic proficiency and academic success.
  • Explore a range of literary genres, texts, and media to engage students in meaningful discussions, critical analysis, and creative expression, cultivating their appreciation for literature, language, and culture.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to participate actively in English language learning and literary exploration.
  • Assess student learning and progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to students on their English language proficiency, academic performance, and growth as independent learners.
  • Differentiate instruction and provide additional support or enrichment activities as needed to meet the diverse learning needs, interests, and abilities of students in English language classes.
  • Integrate technology into the curriculum to enhance language learning opportunities, promote digital literacy, and facilitate communication and collaboration among students in English language activities and projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement interdisciplinary projects, thematic units, and cross-curricular activities that integrate English language instruction with other subject areas and promote holistic learning experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, providing regular updates on curriculum, assignments, assessments, and student progress, and addressing any concerns or questions in a timely manner.
  • Participate in professional development activities, workshops, and conferences to enhance teaching skills, content knowledge, and pedagogical practices in English language education.
  • Adhere to school policies, procedures, and guidelines for classroom management, behavior expectations, and student safety, promoting a positive and respectful learning environment for all students.


  • Bachelor’s degree in English Language, English Literature, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Teaching certification or qualification in English Language Education.
  • Proven experience teaching English language and literature at the primary or secondary level, with strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in English language, with excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic.
  • Passion for English language, literature, and culture, with a commitment to fostering students’ language proficiency, critical thinking skills, and appreciation for literature and language learning.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and adaptability, with the ability to design and implement engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and interests.
  • Collaborative spirit, teamwork, and professionalism, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, parents, and administrators in a multicultural environment.
