The Little Academy

This school is based in Amman, Jordan and is looking for an English Teacher.

The Little Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our team. As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in fostering language skills and literacy development in young learners. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching English language and literature, creative in lesson planning, and committed to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire a love for language and literature while helping students develop essential communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons that cater to the diverse needs and interests of students.
  • Teach English language skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking, through a variety of instructional strategies and activities.
  • Integrate language learning with literature appreciation, critical thinking, and cultural understanding to foster a holistic approach to English education.
  • Utilize a range of teaching resources, technology, and multimedia tools to enhance learning and facilitate student engagement.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to students to support their language development and academic progress.
  • Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments, including quizzes, tests, projects, and presentations.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to learn.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and participate in professional development opportunities.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress, address concerns, and foster a strong home-school partnership.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
  • Teaching certification or qualification in English language teaching (e.g., TEFL, TESOL, CELTA).
  • Previous experience teaching English language and literature to children or young learners preferred.
  • Strong command of the English language, including grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.
  • Knowledge of language acquisition theories, pedagogical approaches, and instructional strategies for teaching English as a second language.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and adaptability in lesson planning and classroom management.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success and well-being.
