Role: English Teacher

As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ language skills, critical thinking, and literary appreciation. Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching English Language and English Literature to GCSE and A-Level students.
• Creating engaging lesson plans that align with the National Curriculum for England.
• Developing students’ reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills through interactive and creative teaching methods.
• Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to support individual growth.
• Encouraging participation in debates, drama, and creative writing to enhance communication skills.
• Collaborating with colleagues to maintain high academic standards across the department.
• Supporting extracurricular activities, school events, and community initiatives to enrich students’ educational experience.

Qualifications & Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

• A B.Ed, Bachelor’s degree with PGCE/PGDE, or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching English to GCSE and A-Level students in a British curriculum school.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate learners.
• A passion for fostering a love for English language and literature.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents.
• A commitment to promoting student well-being and supporting their academic success.
• Willingness to contribute to extracurricular programs, such as public speaking, writing competitions, or school publications.
