French and Spanish Teacher, Saltus Grammar School, Bermuda Teacher

This school is based in Hamilton, Bermuda and is looking for a French Teacher and Spanish Teacher (for Middle / Senior Schools)

The successful candidate will teach French at the Middle and Senior School levels and as required at the Upper Primary School level. Experience is preferred and Advanced Placement French Language and Culture or equivalent is required. The successful candidate will teach Spanish at the Middle and Senior School levels and as required at the Upper Primary School level. Experience and ability to teach Spanish is essential and Advanced Placement Spanish Language and Culture or equivalent is required.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
• Must be a qualified graduate post-secondary education at the university level with appropriate academic credentials demonstrating a high level of expertise in the teaching discipline.
• Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience.
• Must be licensed by or qualified to be licensed by the Bermuda Educators Council.
• Must be certified or qualified to obtain the British Columbia Teacher Certification. (for more information: https://teacherregulation.gov.bc.ca).
• Provides a learning environment that enables individual learners to thrive within a differentiated and highly motivating learning environment.
• Familiarity with international language proficiency exams and certifications such as DEFL, DALF, DELE, TCF is an asset.
• Ability to co-construct with students a foreign language learning environment that establishes high standards, fosters a sense of belonging, and upholds values of inclusivity and safety.
• Proven ability in the use of information technology in the delivery of the curriculum.
• Demonstrated ability to use an online grading system and be willing to create and update schemes of work and resources.
• Demonstrated commitment to the principles of independent education and willing to contribute to extracurricular activities and the broader life of the School.
• Demonstrated understanding of and a commitment to the Mission, Vision, Core Values and Strategic Priorities of Saltus.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate Social Emotional Learning and Executive Functioning skills into lesson design and instruction.
• Committed to academic excellence and strives for positive relations with all students, parents and colleagues alike.
• Must be willing to provide cover for absences and/or advisory
• Ability to handle confidential information with diplomacy and tact.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
• A valid SCARS certification would be preferred.
• A valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification would be preferred.
• Clean criminal record.
