This school is based in Istanbul, Turkey and is looking for a Geography Teacher. 

Çevre Koleji is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join our vibrant academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching geography to students, promoting a deep understanding of physical and human geography, and inspiring students to appreciate the world around them.

Key Responsibilities:

• Instruction: Teach geography courses to students across various grade levels, ensuring lessons are engaging, informative, and aligned with the school’s curriculum standards.
• Curriculum Development: Develop and implement effective lesson plans that cover physical geography, human geography, environmental issues, and geographic technologies.
• Assessment: Evaluate student progress through tests, assignments, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
• Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and supports diverse learning needs.
• Field Trips and Projects: Organize field trips and hands-on projects to provide practical learning experiences and deepen students’ understanding of geographic concepts.
• Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest geographic research, teaching methods, and educational technologies, and participate in professional development opportunities.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the geography curriculum and contribute to interdisciplinary projects.
• Extracurricular Activities: Support and participate in geography-related extracurricular activities, such as geography clubs, competitions, and environmental initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Education, or a related field.
• Teaching certification in Geography or Social Studies.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching geography at the middle or high school level.
• Deep knowledge of geographic concepts, theories, and current global issues.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and geographic information systems (GIS).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
