Role: Head of Computer Science
We are looking for a dynamic Computer Science specialist with strong leadership skills and deep subject expertise. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a track record of designing effective curricula, leading academic progress, and integrating innovative technologies into the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Computer Science department and drive curriculum development
- Deliver engaging lessons for IGCSE and A-Level Computer Science
- Track student progress and implement targeted support strategies
- Promote coding and digital literacy across all key stages
- Collaborate with staff on cross-curricular tech initiatives
- Encourage safe and effective use of digital tools in learning
- Stay updated on emerging trends in computer science education
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Valid teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar leadership role
- Proven success in delivering GCSE/IGCSE and A-Level Computer Science
- Strong command of Python and other relevant programming languages
- Experience designing and updating computer science curricula
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Ability to motivate students and foster a tech-positive culture
