Hisar Educational Foundation Schools

This school is based in Istanbul, Turkey and is looking for a Primary School Vice Principal.

Founded in 1996 by the Hisar Educational Foundation, Hisar Schools are dedicated to elevating academic standards in Turkey. By integrating innovative and progressive learning methodologies with a 21st-century curriculum, Hisar Schools aim to discover and develop the true potential of each student.

Purpose: To contribute to the organization and implementation of academic procedures in accordance with the institution’s vision, achieving its academic goals.

Main Accountabilities:
Relationship Management:
  • Manage relationships with parents, students (current and future), teachers, and staff.
  • Liaise with government agencies (Ministry of Education and others).
  • Engage with other educational institutions (both K-12 and higher education).
  • Collaborate with organizations within the industry.


Management of Educational Activities:
  • Form and update the curriculum.
  • Play an active role in forming timetables.
  • Observe and evaluate learning activities based on results.
  • Work towards improving active learning operations and environments.
  • Support students and teachers closely based on grade level responsibility within the school.
    • Pursue positive discipline procedures in line with Hisar School’s philosophy.
    • Manage E-School (E-Okul) procedures.
    • Prepare duty charts and follow-up on the program.
    • Attend department heads meetings.
    • Manage professional development, particularly in-house training activities.
  • Additional responsibilities:
    • Track changes in rules and regulations published by the Ministry of Education.
    • Organize and chair ŞÖK meetings.
    • Participate in the preparation of class lists.
    • Manage interim registrations.
    • Prepare and update the student/parent handbook.
    • Organize parent/teacher meetings and special events (celebrations/commemorations).
    • Update the school’s website.
    • Order textbooks.


Management of Human Resources:
  • Actively participate in the recruitment of new staff.
  • Manage headcount.


Management of School Budget:
  • Cooperate with the Finance Department to manage the school budget.


Management of Physical Infrastructure:
  • Identify needs for renewal to support a quality learning environment.
  • Conduct a complete tour of classrooms before the start of the new academic year to ensure they are suitable for their purpose.


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Degree in related faculties.
  • Completed pedagogical formation.
  • Native speaker of English.
  • Experienced in the field.
  • Advanced English skills.
  • Preferably experienced in High/Scope, UbD (Understanding by Design) course design.
  • Strong background in utilizing technology for academic and administrative purposes.
  • Strong human relations and communication skills, committed to a collaborative work environment.
  • Passionate about the teaching profession and highly motivated.
  • Committed to constant learning and open to improvement.
