Role Overview: High School Art & Design Teacher
As a High School Art & Design Teacher, you will deliver engaging, skill-based instruction that nurtures creativity and visual literacy. You will guide students through the IGCSE and A-Level Art & Design curriculum, helping them explore a variety of media, techniques, and artistic concepts. Your role will also include mentoring students through portfolio development and preparing them for higher education in the arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver inspiring art and design lessons aligned with the British curriculum
- Promote student exploration of traditional and digital art media
- Encourage independent thinking, critique, and visual storytelling
- Support students in creating portfolios for internal assessment and external examination
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and school exhibitions
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and peers
- Participate in school events, gallery displays, and enrichment activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art, Fine Arts, Design, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience
- Experience with IGCSE or A-Level Art & Design preferred
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in spoken and written English
- Passion for creative education and international learning environments
- Ability to integrate technology and contemporary practices into the curriculum
