Role Overview
As a High School Art Teacher, you will inspire students to explore and express themselves through visual arts. You will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Cambridge curriculum, incorporating both traditional techniques and contemporary practices. Beyond the classroom, you will encourage students to showcase their work in exhibitions, competitions, and collaborative projects, helping them build confidence and appreciation for the arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach high school art classes using the Cambridge curriculum framework
- Plan creative, engaging lessons that encourage artistic growth and critical thinking
- Guide students in developing skills across drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital art
- Organize art exhibitions and promote student participation in cultural events
- Integrate technology into the art classroom to expand creative opportunities
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the school’s arts program
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of teaching experience, ideally in an international school setting
- Strong knowledge of art education and the Cambridge curriculum
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and innovation in teaching
- Highly proficient in spoken and written English
- Enthusiasm for working with students in a diverse, multicultural community
