Role Overview: High School Biology Teacher
The ideal candidate will teach high school Biology, including IB Biology, with a focus on critical thinking, hands-on lab work, and scientific inquiry. This role requires collaboration with other science faculty and curriculum development aligned with international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Biology lessons that meet the objectives of the IB Diploma Programme
- Integrate laboratory experiments and real-world biological applications into lessons
- Evaluate and support student academic progress through varied assessment methods
- Participate in department planning, school-wide initiatives, and extracurricular activities
- Build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents
- Encourage inquiry, research skills, and scientific literacy
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field
- Valid teaching credential (e.g., QTS, PGCE, state certification)
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school setting
- Experience with IB, AP, or other international curricula
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Strong commitment to collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning
- Tech-savvy and able to use digital tools to support instruction
