Role Overview: High School Chemistry Teacher
The High School Chemistry Teacher will deliver engaging and challenging chemistry lessons, preparing students for international qualifications such as IGCSEs, A-Levels, or the IB Diploma Programme. The ideal candidate will promote scientific inquiry, critical thinking, and collaborative learning in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach chemistry to students in Grades 9–12
- Create and implement lesson plans aligned with British or international standards
- Design assessments that evaluate conceptual understanding and application
- Foster a positive, inquiry-based classroom culture
- Collaborate with science department colleagues on curriculum planning and enrichment
- Participate in co-curricular activities and school-wide initiatives
- Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and colleagues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related subject
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching high school chemistry
- Familiarity with IGCSE, A-Level, or IB Diploma Programme preferred
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Strong commitment to student-centered learning and continuous improvement
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Tech-savvy and open to innovation in education
