High School Computer Science Teacher – Overseas Chinese Academy of Chiway Suzhou
Overseas Chinese Academy of Chiway Suzhou (OCAC) is looking for a dedicated and experienced High School Computer Science Teacher to join our international faculty. About OCAC Suzhou
Located in the thriving Suzhou Industrial Park, OCAC is a K–12 international school in Suzhou, China, established in 2017 by Chiway Education Group and Suzhou Industrial Park Development Co. The school was created to serve returning Chinese families seeking a global education experience for their children.
OCAC delivers a bilingual academic program in Chinese and English, blending the Chinese national curriculum with American educational innovations and the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework. We aim to develop globally-minded learners through academic excellence, intercultural understanding, and bilingual fluency.
Role Overview:
As a High School Computer Science Teacher, you will teach students core computer science concepts such as programming, data structures, algorithm design, and emerging technologies. You will design engaging lessons aligned with the IB or similar international curriculum and foster a learning environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving.
Responsibilities
- Teach high school-level computer science classes
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
- Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative tools
- Integrate technology to enhance instruction and learning outcomes
- Participate in curriculum development and interdisciplinary projects
- Provide guidance for student research, coding competitions, or tech clubs
- Communicate regularly with students, colleagues, and parents
- Contribute to a dynamic and collaborative school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or international equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching computer science at the high school level
- Experience with IB, AP, A-Level, or other international curricula
- Strong communication, classroom management, and tech integration skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and committed to professional growth
